This morning in Troy, a teenager died when his truck rolled over on I-35.

Our news partners at KWTX, report that the victim was only 19-years old, and has been identified as a resident of Riesel named, Jeffery Glenn Beatty.

Our sincere condolences are with the Beatty family as they mourn their loss.

Jefferey was traveling south down I-35, when at approximately 5:40 AM, his Toyota Tundra left the highway and began rolling down an embankment. Jeffrey's pick up truck landed on the frontage road at the intersection of North Central Avenue and Windmill Road.

Authorities have stated that Beatty was not wearing a seat belt, but the accident is still under investigation.

According to TX DOT,  in 2018, 43.06% of people were not restrained with a seat belt when a fatal crash occurred. Buckle up out there, guys. Not just for yourself, but for everyone who loves you.
