There will be no criminal case against Brandon Lee for knocking his father, former Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee, unconscious last month. Reports say that the Los Angeles County District Attorney will not prosecute him.

The news comes via TMZ, which notes that Tommy most likely refused to cooperate with the battery investigation, even though it had previously been reported that he was pressing charges.

On the evening of March 5, Brandon took exception to comments his father had made to Piers Morgan in reference to an interview Morgan did with Brandon's mother, Pamela Anderson. According to a statement Tommy wrote a few days later, his son "came in the room angry about my response to Pamela's relentless press about our old relationship, with his dukes up, telling me to get up and fight him. When I stood up he pushed me into a wall. I didn't want to hit my son. I never have and I never will. If I wanted to clock him, I would have knocked him on his ass. He had no problem knocking me out. I asked him to leave and he spun around and sucker punched me."

Brandon claimed, through a source close to him, it was self-defense and that he was living with his father on a part-time basis "because he's trying to help [Tommy] overcome alcohol issues."

Tommy, who wrote and sang the Generation Swine track "Brandon" after his son's birth, denied that alcohol played any role in the incident. The police report, likewise, did not mention alcohol. Lee claimed that his sons "have been poisoned against me" by Anderson, because she was at home raising them while he was often on tour.
