If you notice a teal pumpkin on someone's porch this Halloween, it's not just a piece of art - it's a sign that they've got non-food treats available for kids with food allergies.

The Teal Pumpkin Project was started by the folks at the Food Allergy Research and Education Foundation. Its goal is to make Halloween inclusive for the 1 in 13 kids with food allergies, ensuring they can participate in trick-or-treating.

FARE encourages people to keep a stash of non-food treats to hand out to children in addition to the usual candies. Offering things like glow sticks, bubbles, and novelty toys gives children with food allergies an option so they don't feel left out.

Anyone can participate, and it's a great way of making sure all the creepy ghouls and boils get to experience the joy of trick-or-treating!
