People's mood changes during the rainy season. Others have a tendency to eat more.

If you enjoy feeding a downpour, here a few suggestions.

This video from Tasty shows you a nice recipe for French Onion Soup. Chicken Noodle Soup, but the one I like the best is Turkey Chili with Cornbread Dumplings.

Luckily I have a slow cooker. This recipe doesn't call for you to brown the meat first. I hate that. If I'm gonna brown the meat, I'm cooking the damn meat all the way and making sloppy joes.

This calls for you to dump in the raw meat, onions, an array of peppers, garlic, tomato sauce. You can add beans if you like, but I'm passing on that. Stir it up and cook on high for 4 hours.

While that's cooking, mix a couple of eggs, butter, milk, and brown sugar. Stir it up and then add in flour, cornmeal, salt, and baking soda. Fold it over until you get a texture. Add cheddar cheese and fold that in. After the 4 hours, scoop in the cornbread mix into the slow cooker. Cook on high for another hour.

Dish up and enjoy.
