The mother of a Central Texas man whose remains were found alongside those of his missing friend in Oklahoma is looking for help in recovering a piece of the man's art with immeasurable sentimental value.

Both the bodies of Michael Swearingin, 32, and his friend, Jenna Scott, 28, were found in Oklahoma on Jan. 15. Now, our news partners at KWTX report that Swearingin's mother is hoping to find a picture of Jesus nailed to the cross that Swearingin drew for the First Baptist Church in Temple. Swearingin's mother is hoping that the photograph can be returned so it can be displayed at her son's funeral.

KWTX's Alex Cano writes, "The drawing was sold, but Harrison doesn’t know to whom. She would like to borrow it to display at her son’s funeral service and is making a public appeal in hope the owner will come forward. A celebration of life service will be held for Jenna Scott at 2 p.m. on Friday at Vista Community Church at 7051 Stonehollow in Temple. A funeral service will be held for Michael Swearingin at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Little River-Academy. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday at Hewett-Arney Funeral Home at 14 West Barton Ave. in Temple."

Hopefully, the internet can help Swearingin's mother find the picture in time. If you are in possession of it or know who might be, please share this story with them.
