Emergency red and blue lights illuminated the stands in Elm Mott Friday night after a crash at the Heart O' Texas Speedway.

Our news partners at News 10 say they received a text message around 10:30 pm Friday about a vehicle that had crashed into the track wall. According to the McLennan County Sheriff's Office, a car on the track malfunctioned and wrecked. The cars rear hub caused the tire to separate from the vehicle according to various accounts on the speedway's social media pages.

Three people are reported injured as a result of debris sent up from the crash. These individuals are described as being in a catwalk area at the time of the accident. One person was airlifted from the HOT Speedway, and the others got banged up enough to take a trip to Hillcrest Medical Center according to the McLennan County Sheriff's Office. The man airlifted out was knocked unconscious by a flying tire. He is said to have suffered a concussion.
