Longest Tongue vs Groundbreaking Seismologist
I can't believe I am more interested in a very long tongue than a pioneering seismologist.
It is all Google's fault. The Google Doodle today honors Danish seismologist Inge Lehmann, who discovered that earth has both an inner and outer core. She did this way back in 1929 while studying a New Zealand earthquake. She did this when she may have been the only woman studying such things. You know how men were back then, most not willing to admit that women had brains. Today is Inge Lehman's 127th birthday and she gets an animated Google Doodle.
Being the curious woman that I am, I clicked on the doodle to find out about this Inge Lehmann. I read about her then scrolled down to read the other interesting stories and discovered "The girl with the world's longest tongue". It is not official yet but authentication is on the way for 18 year old, Adrianne Lewis. her tongue is four inches long!
At first I was repulsed,(sorry Adrianne), and then I was fascinated, just like a millions of other people who have made her a YouTube sensation.
Adrianne gets lots of emails with questions about coping with a long tongue. She was kind enough to answer some of them.
I have plans for that tongue that involve a horror movie. I haven't quite worked out the plot but it involves a "Trail of Drool", (insert maniacal laugh here).
