Insurance.com has decreed, K101.7 is the very best station to listen to while driving.  Okay they didn’t say us personally but the survey they just did mentioned all the music we play as the best.

 

The website just polled 2,000 people to figure out the BEST and WORST songs to listen to while driving.  And the BEST driving music is classic rock, particularly JOURNEY.

Here's the Top 10.  (The percentages add up to more than 100% because people could choose up to five songs.)

 

1.  "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey.  It got 30% of the vote. So you get to see them!

 

 

2.  "Bohemian Rhapsody", Queen, 27%

 

3.  "You Shook Me All Night Long", AC/DC,  22%

 

4.  "Any Way You Want It", Journey, 22%

 

5.  "Life Is a Highway", Tom Cochrane, 21%

 

6.  "Dancing Queen", ABBA, 19%

 

7.  "American Girl", Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, 16%

 

8.  "Don't Stop 'Till You Get Enough", Michael Jackson, 15%

 

9.  "Born to Run", Bruce Springsteen,  14%

 

10.  "Fortunate Son", Creedence Clearwater Revival,  14%

 

Insurance.com gave people a list of songs to choose from though, and it's not clear how many choices there were, or how many songs from each genre were represented.

The most-popular "write-in" choices were "Highway to Hell" by AC/DC, "Radar Love" by Golden Earring, and "I Can't Drive 55" by Sammy Hagar.

 

The WORST songs, which make you want to turn the radio OFF, includes a lot of overplayed pop music.   The top spot went to the Grammy Award-winning CLASSIC "Who Let the Dogs Out?" by THE BAHA MEN.  Here's the Top 10:

8.  "You're Beautiful", James Blunt, 14%

10.  "I Will Survive", Gloria Gaynor, 12%

 

The most-popular "write-in" choices for worst songs were "Baby" by Justin Bieber, "Wrecking Ball" by Miley Cyrus, and, quote, "Any type of rap."

 

So what is your favorite?  Mine has gotta be...wait for it...Helen Reddy, anything from her first Greatest Hits album, especially 'I Am Woman"!
