If you were shopping at Target in Harker Heights Sunday evening, you may have witnesses a foot chase and wondered what was going on.

Kathleen Serie with our news partner, KWTX, reports that police responded to a report of a theft in progress at the store in the Market Heights Shopping Center around 6:45 PM. Upon arriving, they reportedly spotted a juvenile stuffing items into a backpack.

When the young suspect exited the store and saw the officers, he ran back inside, leading them on a chase through an employee entrance at the rear of the store and into the Mobile Manor Estates behind the shopping center.

Police caught the suspect in the mobile home park and recovered over $120 worth of stolen merchandise from the backpack.

KWTX reports that the suspect was taken to the Bell County Juvenile Detention Center.
