Project Uno: Clothing with a Message

Christian Lopez, a senior at Eastwood High School, is the mastermind behind Project Uno. Inspired by a desire to spread positivity and highlight the importance of faith, Christian launched his brand six months ago. Christian says that Project Uno's clothing line serves as a constant reminder of God's blessings.

According to Christian, the name itself reflects this mission. "Project Uno." The 1 represents God Almighty, reminding wearers that Christian's faith is a driving force behind his business, and he hopes to inspire others to focus on the positive aspects of life. Christian encourages other teens with a dream to take that first step, emphasizing that "the hardest part is starting."

Over at Chapin High School, we find Omid (pronounced O-meed), Omar Escobar, and their partner from Parkland High School, Aaron Harper, the creative force behind Streetworn Clothing. These three sophomores bonded over their shared love of fashion and a desire to see more affordable, high-quality clothing options available. Especially in the styles they liked, but that are just too expensive to afford.

Streetworn Clothing was born out of this shared vision. Launched in May 2024, the brand has already seen two successful drops, with a third one planned for a very special date: March 12, 2025, which coincides with Omid and Omar's birthdays.

Streetworn Clothing prioritizes affordability, ensuring that everyone can look and feel good in their clothes. Their recent drop featured zip-ups and camp sweats, and their upcoming collection will incorporate a "racing division" theme.

Overcoming Negativity and Finding Support

Both Project Uno and Streetworn Clothing have faced negativity on social media, like anyone who puts themselves out there tends to get. However, these young entrepreneurs understand that criticism comes with the territory. They choose to focus on the positive support they have received and use it as fuel to keep moving forward. Personally, I find this inspiring as hell! One of the hardest parts about staying consistent and moving forward with what you love, is caring more about the way you love and worrying less about what people might say to tear you down.

The rise of Project Uno and Streetworn Clothing is a heartwarming testament to the power of youthful enthusiasm and creativity. These El Paso teens are not only creating unique products but also inspiring others to chase their dreams. Their stories remind us that all you have to do to make something happen, is start.
