The Most Popular Cereal in Texas Will Surprise You
March 7th is National Cereal Day where you can decide to ditch your regular dinner plans and have a bowl of cereal, or two, or three- unless you're our Secretary of Health.
While Robert F. Kennedy Jr. may be rallying to ban Froot Loops, many still enjoy eating the sugary breakfast treat- and according to Newsweek, each state has a favorite cereal they're reaching for. By using Google Trends, Newsweek calculated the data by using the highest-searched brand in every state.
The most popular cereal in Texas is definitely not one that I thought would be a top contender. According to the data, the most popular cereal in Texas are Oreo O's!
Oreo O's consists of Oreo-flavored O-shaped pieces of cereal with a rich cream coating. It's basically the cookie in cereal form!
Oreo O's were not only popular in the Lone Star state, but they were actually the most popular cereal in the country; they were a favorite in 13 states altogether, including Arizona! Now, don't get me wrong, Oreo O's are pretty good- but I find it a bit surprising that a basic cereal like Froot Loops or Captain Crunch didn't make it to the top in Texas!
I'm a Captain Crunch girl myself- I don't care if it ruins the roof of my mouth! Captain Crunch did make the list, but only in one state: Idaho. And our neighbors in New Mexico prefer Special K cereal.
Unfortunately for Corn Flakes, they did not make the list, but other cereals that did include Count Chockula, Kix and Life Cereal! You can check out the entire map here.
