Living in El Paso, Texas, people know of the racing history we have here in town; we've had drivers make into NASCAR like Jamie Dick, Van May was inducted into the EPMA Hall of Fame in 2022 & the fastest woman to ever drive a NASCAR race car was from El Paso.

But there's one more piece of history to talk about & that's a championship winning crew chief who made it in NASCAR. Scott Graves not only went to Coronado High School, he graduated and now he's still helping drivers win races in NASCAR.

When did Scott Graves graduate from Coronado High School?

Born in Clifton Springs, New York, Scott Graves graduated from Texas Tech in 1994 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. But before going to Texas Tech, Scott attended Coronado High School & graduated as part of the Class of 1988.

Scott would join NASCAR in 2006 while working for Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing; he would then join Joe Gibbs Racing in 2016. During his time for Joe Gibbs & RFK, Scott would help multiple drivers win races & of course championships...

How many championships has Scott Graves won?

Scott would get his first success with fellow Texan, Chris Buescher from Prosper, Texas.

He would work with Chris in the Xfinity Series in 2014 but 2015 is where Chris would shine as Scott helped lead him to the 2015 NXS championship.

His next championship would come in 2016; he would lead Daniel Suarez to the 2016 Xfinity Series championship.

In total, Scott would have 8 wins & 2 championships in the Xfinity series alone.

Scott Graves is still in NASCAR today

Scott would team up with Chris Buescher once again in 2022 & together they currently have 4 wins in the NASCAR Cup Series. Considering they had a total of 3 in 2023 alone, it's definitely likely they will be championship contenders again.

Big congrats to Scott for his success & his future successes. And for one T-Bird to another, keep up the good work!
