Hold my Lone Star, and hold the PBR, because we officially know what beer reigns supreme in Texas! This might come as a shock to some Texans, especially those of us in El Paso, Texas, but Bud Light is not the most popular beer in the state!

The news comes direct from Coffeeness who examined beer preferences across different US states. Through extensive analysis of online search trends and, they created a comprehensive map showing which beer brands Americans favor in each state.

Their report found that Miller emerged as the clear leader; Miller claimed the top spot in 30 states, representing 60% of the country. Coffeeness notes of Miller's popularity:

Miller's widespread appeal likely stems from its accessibility, consistent flavor profile and strong marketing presence.

However, it isn't the most popular beer in Texas- that honor goes to the second leader which dominated in eight states- most notably in Western states. Texas' most popular beer is: Coors!

Of the popularity of Coors in the Lone Star state, Coffeeness notes:

Coors' popularity in Texas merits special attention, as the state has a strong beer culture with significant local breweries. The brand's success there likely reflects effective distribution networks, strategic marketing, and a flavor profile that complements Texan cuisine and lifestyle.

Surprisingly, at least to me, Bud Light was only popular in two states; maybe the whole controversy made it less popular. But you wouldn't guess it if you walked into a party in El Paso, where Bud Light seems to be the most popular beer.
