There are some unique bowling alleys in Texas; you just need to look. We've also seen some classic bowling alleys close down & become something else. But that's not always the case.

While the oldest Texas bowling alley is found in Austin, if you've ever traveled to the Dallas/Fort Worth area, you'll find what many people have been claiming is probably one of the most nostalgic looking bowling alleys found in Texas that's still open.

This Dallas bowling alley looks like it was teleported out of the 40s

The Bowlounge bowling alley located in Dallas & Fort Worth might look normal on the outside. but it's the INSIDE that people really love about this bowling alley.

The lanes in particular give off that classic light blue vibe very reminiscent on a classic 1940s Chevy or Ford coupe. You look inside & you can definitely see what Only In Your State was talking about 5 years ago when they raved about this place too.

According to Bowlounge's website, both locations are open 7 days a week, however they are both limited to patrons 21 & over on Friday & Saturday after 8pm. Bowl locations are also cashless so don't bring any change for the jukebox, you have to bring your card.

  • 167 Turtle Creek Blvd #103, Dallas, TX 75207
  • 941 W Vickery Blvd, Fort Worth, TX 76104

Some other popular bowling alleys Texans love are Shenaniganz in Greenville, Oasis Lanes in El Paso, the Uncle Buck's Fish Bowl & Grill in Round Rock & Bowlero which has several locations across Texas (Sadly the one in Northeast El Paso closed down years ago, but we still remember it fondly).
