Popular Texas Retailer Now Closing 1/3 Of Their 1,300 Stores
Texas has a lot of new businesses beginning every day right along side all the new residents arriving to the Lone Star State looking for better career opportunities and quality of life that is not offered just about anywhere else in the United States. Over 10% of the Fortune 500 companies in the USA are now headquartered in Texas, and the state continues to welcome new transfers all of the time.

Many of the brick and mortar retailers that are closing stores while putting off or combatting bankruptcy have made claims that just because underperforming stores are closing, it does not mean the company is struggling as a whole. Sometimes in business things can play out like an accordion with expansion possible even as other properties are being squeezed.
When your store success is so closely tethered to the success of the retail space you are occupying like shopping mall square footage, then it most certainly makes sense to jump from a sinking ship.

One of the biggest, if not largest, Foot Locker on the planet is in Fort Worth as a stand alone store, but so many are still a staple of the local shopping malls. When this article was written there were about 1,300 total Foot Locker locations in America's shopping malls, and according to this Fox Business article, the company is closing about 1/3 of their mall locations right now through the end of next year.
