According to this Texas Public Radio article, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department would like you to remove all bird baths and bird feeders from your homes to help flatten the curve on the spread of avian flu. OK, maybe they did not use those exact words, but they do believe it is a good idea to get rid of areas for birds to congregate like feeders and bath structures, especially if you already have a livestock presence like chickens.

There is some debate about how susceptible wild songbirds are to the avian flu, and their role in its spread, but one point is very agreeable. If you do plan to remove your feeders and baths or simply just keep them clean, then you take great care to protect yourself with gloves and wash your hands thoroughly.
