Salado, Texas has always played a significant role in the historical legacy of Central Texas, while also serving as a major player in the establishment of signature moments of Texas influence on culture. Established mostly as a watering hole for the busy stagecoach traffic between Waco and Austin, the village eventually grew into a highly desirable tourist destination, and an excellent place to dig in deep with roots.

Almost exactly six months after sharing the news in the above link, we can finally say that our beloved Stagecoach Restaurant is open, and serving breakfast, dinner, and supper. Currently, their website says you may enjoy breakfast seven days per week, but if you are looking for lunch date ideas, the kitchen is only serving past 11:30 AM on Wednesdays through Sundays.

One of the most important reasons we all need a place like the Stagecoach Restaurant to still be here today is because it predates so much of the area, and reminds us of the shoulders of the many giants we stand and build upon in an era where it feels as if we only look to the future, and do not remember to count the Ws of our past.

The Stagecoach Restaurant promises tastes of our past, and perhaps even a few throwback prices as well. They want to be a place you can grab a reasonably priced meal on a random Thursday, and not just a destination for special occasions.
