
After Nearly Ten Years, Harker Heights’ Residents Demand New Answers
Harker Heights, Texas has several residents asking when they can expect new information on how the city is going to stop the perpetual sewage backup issue in their yards that has been going on for nearly a decade. The first reports of sewage overflow at a particular manhole in Harker Heights dates back to 2016, and since then a whole lot of Texas sunsets have been missed because residents say they simply cannot enjoy their backyards, and that stinks all the way around both figuratively and literally.

Trimmier Creek runs right behind the Tuscany Meadows subdivision, there are a lot of houses that back up to that creek, and those home owners who partially purchased their homes because of this exact feature believe they are being cheated of enjoying their outdoor space and view due to the stench that permeates from a specific manhole.
Perpetual Problem: Harker Heights Sewer Battle Continues To Stink
According to this KCEN article, residents believe this issue is much more than a small one only affecting this particular neighborhood because the sewage overflows directly into the Trimmier Creek which means all of that waste and debris eventually makes its way into Stillhouse Hollow Lake.

City Of Harker Heights Says Residents To Blame For Sewage Backup
When interviewed, the Harker Heights City Manager David Mitchell says the root cause for the problem is people irresponsibly dumping or flushing debris into the sewage system, which is then causing the pumps to fail because they are damaged or clogged.
