Tomorrow, I will be reliving a childhood memory, and I am bringing the whole crew with me! We are going to Monster Jam at the Moody Center in Austin, and I haven't been to a monster truck rally since 1986.

A Nostalgic Return to Monster Jam

It was almost 40 years ago, so I don't remember very much of my last experience at a monster tuck rally. All I know is that I was in complete awe as I watched those trucks do things that were totally insane and 100% cool! Now I get to see that same look on my daughter Billie's face when the unicorn themed truck, Sparkle Smash, hits the arena.

More Than Just Noise and Dirt

Monster Jam is not just noise and dirt. Monster Jam is a full-on show! It has trucks flying through the air doing backflips and crushing rows of cars as if they were made out of cardboard. There are freestyle runs, head-to-head races, and wheelie contests.

Excitement for All Ages

It is a kid's dream and something that the parents get equally excited about. What about the noise? Isn't it really loud? YES! It rumbles your ribs and gets you cheering before you even realize it.

Uniting Generations Through Thrills

What I love most about Monster Jam is it brings everybody together! When was the last time the three of us (a four-year-old, her mom, and a guy who remembers Bigfoot from the eighties) have been equally excited about something?

Tomorrow, we are getting our earplugs, driving to Austin, and making some monster memories. Billie is going to fall in love with Monster Jam, just like I did, and that will make the loud noises, expensive snacks, and bad traffic it all worth it.

Mega Monster Trucks

The only thing bigger than a monster truck show is a MEGA monster truck show, and there's one happening at Island Grove in Greeley.
