In 1970, the Man in Black came back to the Grand Ole Opry, not just to perform, but to make a mark in history. Johnny Cash recorded his third live album At the Opry on this day. With his growling voice and rebellious spirit, Cash brought a pocket of righteous energy to the Opry that left the walls trembling, to remind everybody why he was a country music outlaw, and legend.

Alan Jackson Hits Number One with “Don’t Rock the Jukebox” (1991)

By 1991, Alan Jackson was already rising in fame, but July 10th proved he was already a superstar. On that date, "Don't Rock the Jukebox" reached number one on the US Country charts, and it helped unite the rawness of honky-tonk with the heart of modern country. It was one of the best songs on his second album, and it was the launching pad for his decade of dominance as the pride of Georgia.

Toby Keith Tops the Charts with “Whiskey Girl” (2004)

In 2004, Toby Keith proved he still had hits in the tank with the song "Whiskey Girl". In tribute to wild women and all the heroic barroom nights it quickly became a fan favorite and highlighted, once again, that Keith was firmly in control of the rowdy anthem game.

Carrie Underwood Says, "I Do" (2010)

On this day in 2010, Carrie Underwood wed NHL star Mike Fisher in an extravagant affair in Georgia. The country superstar and professional athlete formed one of music's favorite love affairs, proving that sometimes dreams do come true especially if they include a country superstar and an NHL hotshot.

Underwood and Fisher stepped out to celebrate the Grand Ole Opry's 100th birthday on Wednesday night (March 19), walking the red carpet before the 'Opry 100: A Live Celebration' NBC special.
