Here Is What The 2026 Fire Cadet  Schedule Will Be

Children interested in becoming fire cadets must be between the ages of 9 and 13 to participate in the two-week session. The program will include several classes held five days a week, from 8 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday.

How Many Sessions Will The Fire Cadets Have This Year?

The dates for the 2026 sessions are June 1 through June 12 for the first session, and June 15 through June 26 for the second session. The city stated that these programs are similar to the training that paid firefighters undergo. Cadets will learn techniques such as operating fire hoses, working with nozzles, handling ladders, and performing other related duties.

What Will Fire Cadets Learn During Training?

This is a great opportunity for children to learn valuable skills while having fun. In addition to hands-on training, cadets will also learn leadership, basic first aid, personal hygiene, respect for neighbors and elders, goal setting, team building, exercise, and proper conduct.

Do You Want Your Child To Be A  Cadet?

City officials say each cadet will also learn more about the Temple Fire Department, its organizational structure, and what it takes to become a firefighter, as well as the importance of education. If you’re interested in enrolling your child in the 2026 Junior Cadet Program, please click here.
