Temple, Texas, is most definitely in the holiday spirit this year, setting up a new tradition in the downtown area, according to KCENT. Rink on the Rails will be opening this winter here in Central Texas, and I am super excited! I hope all of Central Texas gets excited too about the largest outdoor ice rink in the area.

Temple's New Rink Is Officially Central Texas' Largest Outdoor Ice Skating Venue

This rink is made with real ice, and its debut will be on December 12, running through Sunday, January 4, at the MLK Festival Grounds, located at 301 S. 4th St. Usually, if you want to enjoy an ice-skating experience in Central Texas, you have to go as far as Dallas. But now, it’s right down the street—with admission only $12 per person and skates available for $5 each! This is something the surrounding areas can really get excited about.

Bryn Myers, the city manager, stated that downtown Temple continues to grow as a destination for community connections and celebrations. Myers went on to say, “We’re excited to bring a new holiday tradition to invite families and visitors to experience the magic of the season right here in the heart of Temple, Texas.”
