
Lake Belton, TX: Boating Accident Causes Multiple Injuries
On Saturday, May 31, around 10:30 p.m., Morgan’s Point Resort Fire Rescue was notified of a boating accident in the Lake Belton area. According to KXXV, several 911 calls were placed reporting cries for help coming from an island near Morgan’s Point Marina, although no vessel was initially visible from shore. A boat was later located near Marina 61. A rescue crew of three was deployed and reached the island where the incident had occurred. Four individuals were on board the vessel, and one appeared to have suffered head injuries as a result of the collision.

All individuals were assessed at the scene and then transported to the Morgan’s Point Resort Marina, where they received further medical attention. According to the boat’s owner, the vessel's navigation lights had malfunctioned, forcing the group to rely on a flashlight. Although the operator was familiar with the area, he failed to see the island in the darkness, leading to the crash.

Morgan’s Point Resort Fire Rescue is reminding the public that all boaters, especially those going out after dark, should ensure their vessel’s lights and flotation devices are fully functional before heading out on the water.
