Dangerous Road Conditions Possible in Killeen as Flood Watch Extended to 9 p.m.

The weather throughout the morning in the City of Killeen has been very wet and somewhat dangerous. The City of Killeen has released a statement indicating that the area will remain under close monitoring until 9 PM due to a flood watch, as reported by the National Weather Service.

At this time, the city is experiencing extremely heavy rainfall. Forecasts indicate totals of 2 to 3 inches, with some isolated areas possibly receiving more than 4 inches of rain.

Residents are urged not to take this situation lightly and to prepare accordingly. If you do not need to go out, it is strongly recommended that you stay home. Those who must travel should exercise extreme caution on the roads.

City officials have also advised that unnecessary travel should be avoided at this time.

Drivers are strongly encouraged to never drive through standing or moving water, to monitor local weather updates and emergency alerts, and to avoid driving unless necessary.
