
Killeen Middle School Locked Down After Student Injury
A second lockdown has taken place in the Killeen Independent School District this March. According to KWTX, Killeen’s Roy J. Smith Middle School was placed on lockdown today following an incident where a student was injured and required medical attention. Fred Lily, the principal of Roy J. Smith Middle School, sent a message to families to inform them about the situation.

Student Hurt in Incident That Leads to Killeen Middle School Lockdown
Principal Lily’s message stated: “Smith families, we want to inform you of a situation that occurred on our campus this morning. A student was injured and is being transported to receive medical care. Our school has been placed on lockdown, and students will not be released during this time.”
Last week, Harker Heights High School was also part of a potential lockdown, but fortunately, no students were injured. There are no ongoing threats to any Roy J. Smith students or staff.
Lockdown at Killeen Middle School After Incident Injures Student
Law enforcement is thoroughly investigating the situation, according to Principal Fred Lily. The school is located at 6000 Brushy Creek Dr., and when the incident occurred, students were transported to Mannan Church at 1826 Stagecoach Rd. in Killeen, where parents and guardians are currently picking up their children.
