Is This Texas’ Best Kept BBQ Secret? Belton’s Smoke-Off Explained
There are a few things we take seriously here in the great state of Texas. We don’t joke about the Dallas Cowboys; we take pride in our Southern hospitality; and, most importantly, we respect good barbecue. So when I heard that Amy’s Attic will be hosting a “Chamber of Smoke-Off”, a barbecue cook-off benefiting Feed My Sheep, according to KDH News, I knew it was something the whole community could get excited about.

Where Should You Be This Weekend?
This event will take place on Saturday at 7950 State Highway 3317 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and it promises to be much more than just a barbecue competition. While the smoked meats will certainly be the main attraction, attendees can also look forward to a variety of family-friendly activities. There will be a designated area for kids to play and enjoy themselves, local vendors showcasing their goods and essentials, prize drawings, live music, and plenty of other entertainment throughout the day.
Come Out And Enjoy Your Community
Events like this are important because they bring people together. They create opportunities for neighbors to connect, support one another, and strengthen the sense of community. It’s not just about the food, although that’s definitely a bonus—it’s about fellowship and building relationships. And honestly, if you’re going to find yourself in a crowd of unfamiliar faces, there’s no better icebreaker than sharing a plate of perfectly cooked brisket. Barbecue, community, and a great time—what more could you ask for?
