CDC released a statement that in May, there was an average of seven individuals confirmed of the plague, and there was also reported to be in the United States each year. There is also been testing taking place in the state of Colorado. The bubonic plague is very deadly and dangerous, but it is curable only if there is some type of antibiotic treatment in the early stages of receiving the plague, without treatment, it can kill up to 60% of the people who have it.  Antibiotics usually become effective once given in a 24-hour setting, but it’s severe cases, patients may also need oxygen, fluids, and even breathing support.

The symptoms of the plague could include just a feeling of sickness and having pains as if it’s the beginning of the flu,  swollen lymph nodes, high fever, muscle aches, fatigue, headaches, and even chills. One of the more familiar symptoms of the plague would be associated with skin sores. Plague sores show up in very rare cases and as of right now, there haven’t been any cases confirmed here in Texas, but because it has begun to make its rounds in the US, Texans are told to please pay attention to the symptoms and signs.
