
Millions of Texans Plan Holiday Road Trips as Gas Prices Drop to Four-Year Low
It's that time of year when Texans are getting ready to hit the road or hit up the airport and travel to their holiday destinations. They may be taking a vacation or just heading to their hometowns to spend Christmas and New Year's with their families.
Low Gas Prices Boost Road Trips
This year is going to be a record-breaking year for travel because gas prices are at a four-year low. According to AAA Texas, the average price in Texas for a gallon of regular gas is $2.51. Those in Amarillo and Sherman-Denison are paying the lowest at $2.31 per gallon. With gas prices being low, people are hitting the road.

Over 9.4 million Texans are planning on traveling over the holidays, December 20-January 1, and of those 9.4 million 93% will be traveling by car. While over 400,000 Texans will be flying to their destinations.
