Low Gas Prices Boost Road Trips

This year is going to be a record-breaking year for travel because gas prices are at a four-year low.  According to AAA Texas, the average price in Texas for a gallon of regular gas is $2.51. Those in Amarillo and Sherman-Denison are paying the lowest at $2.31 per gallon.  With gas prices being low, people are hitting the road.

Texas Holiday Travel Forecast 2025

Over 9.4 million Texans are planning on traveling over the holidays, December 20-January 1, and of those 9.4 million 93% will be traveling by car.  While over 400,000 Texans will be flying to their destinations.

Where are Texans flocking to this holiday season? AAA Texas says, Texans are flocking to Austin, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio, and the Hill Country
