Have They Taken A Shot At Legalizing Gambling In Texas
Actually, they recently took their shot at it...and were ultimately shot down in their attempt to legalize it.
They argued there was already a huge black market of Texans illegally placing sports bets, among other forms of gambling, so why not legalize it and reap the benefits?
What Was Their Proposal
Turns out, they own a property near the old Texas Stadium. They wanted to take the property and land and flip it into something major.

Why Did Texas Shoot It Down
Well, it wasn't for a lack of trying. Sands hired over 100 lobbyists to try to get the deal done, but they faced major backlash from locals in their efforts to make it happen.
