Texas Mom Stops Intruder Climbing into Teen’s Bedroom

(Odessa, Texas) This is a nightmare for many Texas parents, the thought of an adult causing harm to your child almost became a very real and scary situation recently.

According to KOSA, there was a man arrested recently after crawling through the bedroom window of a 14-year-old young girl in Odessa, Texas.

Details on the Man Crawling in the Window

According to law enforcement, the incident took place on Monday, April 28, 2025, at approximately 2:30 a.m.

That is when the Odessa Police Department received the call from a homeowner saying someone entered her daughter’s bedroom window, it took place in the Brentwood area.

The man was scared away by the homeowner and escaped, although while leaving quickly he dropped his cell phone.

Law Enforcement Arrived on Scene Quickly

Once law enforcement arrived on the scene the homeowner pointed them in the direction of another potential witness to the incident.

At that time the phone left at the scene was also handed over to police and it didn’t take long for investigators to get a search warrant to go through the man’s phone.

It was two days later that the 14-year-old was asked to provide a forensic interview and describe the man who entered her bedroom.

Investigators identified the suspect as 30-year-old Ivan Quiroga-Vargas.

The man lived in the same area as the victim’s house.

Law Enforcement Caught Up with the Suspect

When officials arrested the suspect on May 1st, he admitted to being highly intoxicated at the time of the incident and believed he was crawling into his own window.

He admitted that the phone found at the scene was his.

The female victim also positively identified him as the man who entered her room.

Quiroga-Vargas was charged with Criminal Trespass of Habitation; he was transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.

The charges might be upgraded if there is evidence that the suspect was intending to commit another crime.

Looking at his charges he was also placed under an ICE hold.

Seeing as how we live in Texas, the suspect is fortunate to still be alive after something like this.
