While I have heard about delivery robots in Texas, I have never seen them for myself or used them to have items delivered. If you’re like me and haven’t had a delivery robot, drop items to you yet, just know that it’s coming soon.

We got details recently from NBCDFW, about the food delivery robots that have now launched in downtown Dallas.

Who is Controlling These Robot Deliveries?

The company Avride (pronounced A-V ride) is behind the five robotic delivery machines that just launched in Dallas. They launched these delivery robots in Austin earlier this year.

Avride Works with a Popular Food Delivery App

Currently, Avride is working with the app UberEats to deliver all food items.

More Details on the Delivery Robots New to Dallas

Most people wonder how these robots work and how they don’t cause headaches with others in downtown Dallas. But these robots are intelligent.

Avride robots never even hit 10 mph, they have a 360-degree radius camera which helps to detect other people and anything else that might be in the way.

These robots have no problem with navigating sidewalks, crossing streets, or understanding traffic lights. They have light detection and lasers to help measure distance around designated areas.

Avride says the plan is to expand more in the downtown Dallas area, but to venture out to neighborhoods outside of downtown in 2025.

This is amazing technology that will change the way food delivery is done moving forward. Would you like to see delivery robots everywhere in Texas or do you not like this idea?
