With the re-opening of bars, Bingo and Bowling tomorrow, Harker Heights Parks and Recreation have announced the cancellation of all summer sports leagues for youth and adults to focus on kicking off sports leagues in the fall.

According to a press release put out by Harker Heights Parks and Recreation the recent limitations the Governor has put on amateur youth sports, does not allow for sports leagues to practice the safe procedures this summer.

Jeff Achee, Director of Parks and Recreation in Harker Heights said:

“We are looking at Fall Youth Soccer as the starting point for returning to regular programming, We believe that, as long as the State and County are continuing to open up a business, as usual, the outdoor soccer facility allows our staff to put as many safety measures in place as possible. Our hope is that our youth and adult sports will resume as scheduled once this has proven to be a success.”

All of this really means you have more time to practice, and get in shape for the fall!

There is a list of procedures you must follow to participate in fall sports, for more information call 254-953-5600 or logo on to www.Harkerheights.gov
