Family That Lost Dog After Hurricane Sandy Finds Him at Shelter While Trying to Adopt New Pooch
Reunited! And it feels so good.
A family that lost its dog after Hurricane Sandy was miraculously reunited with the pooch when it went to a a shelter looking to adopt a new animal.
The terrier-pitbull mix, named Reckless, got away from his Keansburg, New Jersey home during the 2012 storm. Chuck James and his family spent months unsuccessfully trying to track him down before eventually realizing Reckless was gone. Fast forward to last week when they went to a local SPCA chapter to adopt a new dog.
Who's sitting in the first stall? None other than Reckless himself, who had been at the shelter for about six months.
As the 10-year-old girl in the family said, "That hole in my heart is finally filled in."
