When Christmas lands on a Tuesday, things can get weird.

It looks like government employees will be working for free over the holidays. You're paying to go to school, but it seems the teachers still want control over when they work. What have we learned about this? Don't work for the government.

The CTC central campus in Killeen will be closed December 20 through January 2 for the holidays.

Administrative offices will re-open and registration and academic advisement will resume on Thursday, January 3.

Students who have completed the admissions/advisement process can register for spring 2019 semester classes using CTC’s online WebAdvisor system during the holiday break.

They might not get paid for it, but the CTC Fort Hood campus will be open December 20-21, December 26-28 and January 2 from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. offering limited services.

The office will be closed December 24, 25, 31 and January 1 then resume normal business hours and full services on January 3.

Students can register through December 19 (December 17 using the GoArmyEd portal) for the CTC Fort Hood campus mini-term which runs December 17 – January 9. No classes will be held December 24, 25, 31 and January 1. Registration for the first spring 2019 term is also open now through January 17 (January 13 using the GoArmyEd portal). The spring term runs January 14 – March 9, 2019.

The special holiday hours continue as CTC’s service area sites in Marble Falls, Lampasas, Gatesville, Brady and Fredericksburg will also be closed December 20 through January 2 and re-open January 3. Students can then register online through WebAdvisor or at the respective sites.

During the holiday break students can still access CTC’s virtual library services such as the Ask a Librarian e-mail service and ReferenceRequest@ctcd.edu. Responses are typically sent within 24 hours of an inquiry. The Research Assistance Paper Review Service (RAPRS) and the library’s online databases will also be available throughout the break and can be accessed from the library website: http://www.ctcd.edu/academics/library/.

Blackboard will be unavailable December 25-30 as it undergoes scheduled routine maintenance. The maintenance week has been built into each course schedule and will not shorten the actual length of any course. Technical support for Blackboard and BioSig-ID will be available during the holiday break although response time could be slightly longer than usual. For assistance, select the “Tech Support” quick link at the Distance Education and Educational Technology website at http://online.ctcd.edu.
